Audition Prep

As you may know, the key to a successful audition is bringing as much of your own personality to the material you choose. Once the students feel comfortable enough to do so, their audition's begin to take shape from there. But within the confines of a large class it can be challenging to have time for each student to try out material and get feedback on what they're doing. This is where we come in.

M&R Vocals takes a fresh look at the material the student has been working on with their teacher/program. We provide constructive criticism within a safe environment so students feel comfortable to experiment with new ideas. Students also begin the process of interpretation for themselves.

With our dual backgrounds in theater and music, students benefit from the large arsenal of material we can work with. We draw from our professional performance and audition experience to provide instruction in: Musical Theater, Classical voice, Opera, Straight Acting and Dance.

We look forward to collaborating with you and your students in one of two manners:

Private Coaching: We coach audition material in a private setting with the student. Ideal for the student who is looking for intensive, independent study of their material. Also a great option for those students who are not completely comfortable with performing their pieces in front of their classmates. $50 per half an hour session.

Group Master Class: We coach groups of 10-15 students in an afternoon. Each student has the opportunity to work their songs/monologues intended for auditions. Ideal for the student who is ready to bring their audition material to a public setting and receive feedback from multiple sources. We encourage critical thinking from all participants, even those who will not be performing. $40 for each Auditioning Participant, $30 for each observing participant. First priority will be given to students who wish to work audition material.
